I’ve now started my galleries over at Fine Art America, with plenty more to come as soon as possible. This place is no less special than who I use for my custom work, but they make it a lot easier to offer you so many options for your home, quickly and still offer great quality. At the moment, there are images from India, Costa Rica, and from the recent Space Shuttle Enterprise flight over the Hudson.

Shuttle Enterprise Gallery

My wife smelled a fire, even though I questioned it multiple times, and we eventually went outside and saw what turned into a major blaze around the corner from us in Hoboken.

First off, we heard everyone got out from various officers we asked, though we’re waiting to see if there was any update. I’ve never seen anything like this, how the fire crawled up the building, at various points we thought it was out. Then it just grew out of control. We shop at the small grocery store there all the time, and it was so sad to see the owner out front watching. 4 years ago when we moved here, a major fire hit 1 block in the other direction, took out the building as well. I can’t imagine this building will stay up, but still, as long as the firefighters and people are all ok.

UPDATE 2/20:
I went out today to see the aftermath and discovered that the fire was still going. Again, in awe of the whole thing.

I asked the firemen what was happening. I was told that these old buildings have so many voids in them, things like ducts and dumbwaiters, that allow the fire to shoot up quickly. Once it’s in the walls, it’s extremely hard to contain.

I was out from around 9am-12pm and they were still dealing with it. Such an awful sight and I hope no one ever has to experience something like this firsthand.

The kids looked to be having a blast with all the activities, games and even surprise guests Batman and Robin. They were rewarded with a pizza party at the end, and loved every minute of it.

After the Kids’ Fun Run, the adults show up to participate in the 5k run at 7pm. Hundreds of people from all age groups were there, and fans lined up on Pier A and Sinatra Drive to support them.

Once the race was over, the winners were announced, medals and trophies handed out, and the after party began. Runners were rewarded with plenty of beer and wine.

So many friends and family attended the event, and had a blast with games, great food, and fun gifts. The best part was having the many generations of family in attendance all congratulating Nora on her special day, and for her future wedding.

We started the morning at Shipyard Park, which is a nice, small park for families and couples. After hiding a bit from the rain, we made our way over to the piers and finally over to Maxwell Place Park, another family-friendly place with a great open area for photos. It’s one of my favorite places for children photography as well with a bright-colored playground.

This session was a gift to them from Chrissy’s brother and sister-in-law. A big thank you to them! Full gallery is linked below the images.
